OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Shawano Youth League (SYL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching and developing community youth in the sports of baseball and softball. The SYL will promote teamwork, good sportsmanship and fair play while striving to provide quality instruction in the fundamentals and strategies of the game. The SYL is committed to providing a positive environment for building character, self-confidence, discipline, courage, leadership and community pride. We hope to foster an enjoyment and love for the game to last a lifetime. Travel teams sponsored by the SYL will encompass the same experiences, progressing in competitiveness as our participants grow their skills. The SYL is a developmental program for the community, aiming to work with young athletes that will eventually attend Shawano High School.

Please remember, if you have any children on a travel tournament team you will need to complete 2 shifts (total of 10 hours) and there is no option to forfeit your deposit… volunteering is mandatory.
If not on a travel team you will need to complete 1 shift (5 hours).
Also….the time you worked during weeknight League Concessions DOES NOT count toward your volunteer deposit requirement. You need to work at the home tournaments to avoid having your check cashed.
